nice sticky on the deactivation of the 180 km speed limit on another page...
though was wondering one thing.
suppose we do remove the 180 km limit from the bike... is it going to make any difference to mileage or the torque or horse power or anything.... or is it just going to "not stop" the bike from going beyond 180km.
Also in My CB400 the speedo is only till 180.. so i dunno...

no change to bhp or torque at all, just speed.
It basically advances 2 cylinders, when it reaches that speed, so it cant go over 180km.
The speedo gets to 180, and it increases the resistance in the circuit which, activates the part of the cdi box that then advances or retards the igniton on 2 cylinders to stop it going faster.
Its japanese law to limit vechiles to 180km/h. That includes cars and bikes that are jap imports.
thats strange my speedo goes to 195 i think. _________________ Chris.

i got cb400 SF PB1
.....speedo is only till 180.....
My bike does have a rev limiter though.... don't know about the speed limiter, never tried to go that fast, with the roads in our country it wouldn't be safe.
Rev limiter switches on even in the first gear... or any other gear when the rpm goes too high... the sound starts to, kind of crackle or something.
It's wierd.... is there anyway to get rid of that...?? _________________ www.digitally.in |

its a shame, we cant see the bike upclose.
at what revvs does it cut in at?
what country is it?
I know in japan they restrict the bikes and cars to 120kph
in france to 100bhp
Im not sure about other countries, maybe your country have stilly power rules too, maybe a local dealer could help you out. _________________ Chris.

there is a 6th gear, lol
but in all seriousness maybe it could do with a good service.
How does the bike run? does it splutter?
Valve clearances maybe out,
possibly try a carb balance and fresh plugs will help too. _________________ Chris.

let us know how it goes!
Oh for plugs the bike is supposed to run on
NGK - CR8EH9
however I find that it produces more power if you run with;
NGK - CR9EH9
good luck.
